A House committee voted Thursday to allow new residential projects to be purchased with credits for renewable energy.
The House panel also voted to include an amendment to allow for new projects to use the Energy Star standard for the purchase and delivery of renewable energy and reduce the cost of the energy credits to homeowners.
In the Senate, the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee voted Thursday night to include a similar amendment.
While both of those measures are on the committee’s agenda, they’re not expected to become law.
It’s unclear how many bills would be considered by the full Senate.
With a Republican majority, the House and Senate Energy, Natural Resources and Banking Committees can move forward with any legislation.
