A couple of months ago, I went to the Ottawa Mission Rock hotel.
The room was furnished with an old-fashioned bed.
But I knew I needed to get into the room and explore its history.
It’s been a place of intrigue for generations, but there was a reason I was drawn to it: Mission Rock is the last major settlement in Ontario that had its original building site removed in the 19th century.
Its only remaining residents were descendants of settlers from Nova Scotia who arrived in 1776 and set up shop in the area.
By 1790, Mission Rock was one of the wealthiest towns in Ontario.
Its population ballooned to more than 10,000.
The colony had grown so rich it could buy up entire towns and then start building on them.
The first settlers were farmers who settled in nearby Lake Superior.
The settlement grew in size until it was so large that it had to be moved into a new building.
At some point, a group of men decided to get rid of the land and built a new settlement on the north shore of Lake Superior and the shore of Mission Rock.
The land was donated to the city in 1854 and the name was changed to Mission Rock in 1857.
By then, the city had about 20,000 residents and was booming.
In 1870, the first permanent settlement was established in the Mission Rock area.
Its name was The Mission, and its first residents were from Nova Scotia.
It was the first of three settlement sites to be converted to hotels, and the other two were located in Toronto and Montreal.
The Mission was the site of the first Canadian International Exhibition, the only one to take place in Canada in 1877.
The Exhibition attracted a million visitors, and it was also the home of one of Canada’s most famous musicians.
The original building at the Mission was demolished in 1968.
The hotel has stood vacant ever since.
A decade ago, a small group of people took over the hotel and began renovating it.
They wanted to add more rooms and to add a new dining room.
But in 2015, the hotel decided to stop selling tickets and the renovation was cancelled.
It now operates as a hotel for international clients.
I was invited to tour the Mission this week, but I couldn’t attend because I was planning on spending the summer at a hotel in Quebec City.
When I asked the hotel’s owner, Paul J. Stilson, about the hotel, he was incredulous.
He said that there was no reason for people to stay in a hotel during summer months.
He was upset about the fact that a building was not being renovated, but he wasn’t going to talk about it.
Stuson is one of a handful of people who run Mission Rock hotels.
He’s one of many that have been around for decades, and he’s the one who’s really in charge of the hotel business.
I met him and his wife, Sharon, a retired nurse, at the hotel in the spring.
They had just moved into the Mission in 2013 and had already bought out the entire hotel.
He explained that he doesn’t care what people think of the building or the history of the Mission, he just wants to sell tickets and renovate it.
“The mission is very special,” he said.
“We’ve been here for almost 100 years.
The building is beautiful.
The history of it is very, very important.
If we don’t do something, we can’t have anything.”
Sharon told me that she had been interested in the hotel since she was a teenager and wanted to help build it.
She said she bought tickets to the Exhibition at a time when it was going on and was excited to be able to see the hotel for herself.
But the hotel wasn’t doing well and she couldn’t stay in the room with me.
She wanted to buy more tickets to see her friends.
I asked Sharon if she could sell tickets to people she saw at the Exhibition.
“I think I could,” she said.
She bought tickets and booked them to a room in a different room of the restaurant.
That’s when she got a call from the hotel owner.
She was told that she was not allowed to buy tickets to other guests.
“He said he’s going to sell all of the tickets to everyone,” she recalled.
“That’s all he said to me.
Sharon said she told her son, but was told no. “
There’s only three people who are allowed to be there: me, my wife and my son.”
Sharon said she told her son, but was told no.
“My son told me it’s not my job,” she told me.
“So I said, ‘Well, if it’s my son’s son, what do I do?’
And he said, `No, no, no.
You’re not allowed.'”
The next day, she got an email from a member of the management team.
They said that they
